Jim Brennan


Jim has a Master of Science Degree in Marine Science from Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and 38 years of work experience in marine systems. Jim currently runs his own private consulting business, focusing on marine shoreline restoration and education but spent last 29 years of his career working in Washington State on marine resource management issues with a focus on Puget Sound marine nearshore habitats and species. Jim has served on numerous technical assessment and advisory committees, including the King County sponsored Nearshore Technical Committee (Chair), the Nearshore Science Team for the Puget Sound Nearshore Restoration Partnership, Department of Natural Resources Science Review Panel, Salmon Recovery Funding Board Technical Review Panel, and Bainbridge Island’s Environmental Technical Advisory Committee. He also served as President of the Pacific Estuarine Research Society and Governing Board Member of the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation, an international organization of coastal scientists.
